DINAH NICHOLSON

FAIRY HISTORY

Born into a family of artists, Dinah Nicholson was surrounded by relations who created things.  As a small child she was taught to sew by her grandmother, Cora, who made dolls for her. When Dinah’s family had grown up, she started making fairies.

Each fairy comes with a name and number (entered into The Ledger in the Fairy Factory) and there are no two the same.

Fairy faces are painted individually and their dresses are made of treasured bits of fine haberdashery, with petticoats of

lace, silk, tulle and chiffon, gathered by hand.
